Samsung Soundbar HW-N450 problems

The Samsung HW-N450 soundbard has a problem and breaksdown causing the sound the blank out, causing silent moments during the audio. (Audio breaks). There is no solution for it and Samsung can't help.

OK for a Bedroom TV...not for main TV - POOR

Bought for television in living room...not good sound for our main tv. voices are muddy....base from subwoofer is nearly non-existent. Moved the soundbar to our bedroom TV. Tried the 650 version...even worse with center speakers. Tried the Costco version, poor muddy sound as well. Soundbars were being used on Samsung QLED tv and just are to weak in design to generate decent sound. Switched to Vizio soundbar for living room TV and now have sound that is clear, good base and sounds like a sound system. This soundbar warrants a don't buy or use where sound is not critical.

I bought this a couple months ago and its excellent soundbar does the job filling up my room with sound and the subwoofer is fantastic no problem at all I like the design but I recommend buying the rear speaker for the full experience.

Great Soundbar and Subwoofer!

I just ordered this from the Samsung website with assistance for on-line chat person. Once I got it all set up, the sound was quite extraordinary and fills my living room with clean, crisp, clear sound. Easy to install to my older Samsung Smart TV. Highly recommend it!

It's cheap for a reason

The bar itself makes an ok sound, but the subwoofer makes no sound at all. It is just a huge black box that does nothing. Pretty disappointed with this product. Try to test before buying. Bought it because the bar was narrower than others.

I bought 3days ago. I connected with Bluetooth(BT). I'm using only for movies. Until now I dont see any diferences betweeen TV speakers and soundbar. Do I need to connect with wires or BT is OK ? What kind of audio(dolby, atmos, DTS....) should I play ?

Sounds fine, easy to hook up but audio drops out.

My wife bought me this for Christmas and she deliberately bought a Samsung as our 49" 1080P TV is Samsung. Opened it up, excited to hook it up and discovered that the audio drops out and random times losing a word or two. I took it back to BestBuy and the second one did the same thing. Talked to BestBuy and they said it's probably the TV but they wouldn't help me because I didn't pay for their coverage even though the TV is still under warranty. I then literally spent hours emailing, chatting, calling Samsung tech support having to do the same mundane reboots and resets every time to no avail. Finally they agreed to get someone out to replace the main board on the TV. Took him 2 weeks to get the part and 45 minutes to install it. The first day it seemed fine and even survived an entire Harry Potter Movie so I thought I was good. Then, today, the very next day, my wife let me know that she and my son noticed it dropping audio again, sigh. Since BestBuy would only take the sound bar back until tomorrow she just took it back and got her money back. I think my solution is going to be to go and buy a comparable Sony TV and sound bar and give this defective TV away and be done with Samsung. Sad too as before this, I'd been purchasing just about all Samsung. This one experience has led me to the conclusion that I should now avoid both Samsung and BestBuy.

Not powerful

I bought this sound bar on black Friday to go with my 4k 65 inch Samsung TV the off the TV speakers are more powerful than this sound bar. My music needs to be on 34 or higher . Maybe I have a defective one

Great sound and easiest installation Ever

Engineers at Samsung did a great service by making mounting easy. The bar hangs on 2 L-brackets with key hold slots allowing the anchors to mount to wall THEN hanging the bar on. Allowing a level installation first try. OK, now these are 14 3/8" on centers so you cant hit 2 studs, only one. Really? Sound: Very balanced high range with bass level, so a Grand piano sounds like its actually in the room. You can boost treble and bass if you want to, but its realistic for TV audio. Setup was instant and My Dish remote works on this with my Samsung TV. When off there is no annoying standby light on bar lighting up the bedroom. Love this design

Sounds Muddy with no Clarity.

I just bought a HWN-450 and it sounds Muddy with no Clarity. You are much better off to buy a Sony A/V Receiver and Real Speakers as it will drive you nuts listening to music or movies as you can never get the sound good and clear at any level. Sure they make TV sound better but that is about it. Sad I wasted almost $200 on it...

Fantastic soundbar for the price!

This soundbar works great for the space that I'm in! My townhouse isn't huge, so it puts out enough sound on my main floor. I would suggest getting something more powerful if you have a bigger living room/family room. Overall, it's been fantastic and highly recommend for the price.
