Good quality speakers with no added value

i use the swa-8500s set in combination with a hw-q60t soundbar. the rear set is easy to set-up and good quality, but the real problem is they will not complement your setup to a truly 5.1 dolby surround. the speakers are highly directional which will give you a narrow sweet spot. probably this is why many people complain about the volume level. if you mount them at ear level they can easily match the sound level of your sound bar. when connected they work like a 3.1 sound system, replicating the front left/right channels, with a different frequency weight which is tuned for ambiance sounds. sounds like rain, steps will definitely fill your room, and they will give some separation for the right and left channels, but still far off from the separation given by a truly 5.1 dolby surround.

i had to go to the best buy website to learn how to adjust the rear speaker volume as there are no instructions. i learned how to adjust each level and set all of them to 6 or maximum. i can hear sound if i stick my ear directly on the rea speakers

not sure what wireless means to most people but to me it means no wires. these speakers are a great idea but i was let down when i opened them and found out they do actually need to be connected. partly my fault for not researching them more before telling people i wanted them as a gjft i guess. didnt even test out the soudn quality because i was so mad about the speaker. will be returning tomorrow

once you get these little bad boys set up, they're absolutely disappointing. the problem is on top of the initial setup, you have to tweak your soundbar settings to really get any value out of them, and that's not really documented anywhere (i eventually figured it out after reading a half dozen reddit threads). once you get these little bad boys set up correctly, they're make an astonishing difference. they're small, and the included amp is not overly powerful, so they can be a little quiet, but they sync easily to a bar, and really boost the sound depth and quality.

tested this kit with both the t430 and t650 soundbars. for the t430 (a 2.0ch system), the rear speakers simply copy the sound of the front speakers. by design, the rear speakers will always be overpowered, making them difficult to hear at times. still they add value to the sound (as side speakers), filling the room more. certainly not a must-have for 2.0 systems, but a nice addition nonetheless. when paired with the t650 (5.1ch), this kit truly shines, providing true surround sound. with discrete sound effects coming from the back, volume is no longer an issue; these speakers get plenty loud. due to the bluetooth connectivity and the small speaker size, they elegantly fit in most living rooms. a tad overpriced perhaps, but it's difficult to get a better surround set for this price.

i just plugged mine in and hooked it up to the sound bar. the set up seems easy enough. it connected without much of an issue. the problem is they seem pointless. you need to be within inches of the surrond sound speakers to hear anything at all. my couch is about 3 feet from where the surrond sound speakers are set up, and they add nothing to the overall, audio experience. not sure if its just the ones i received or if they all are this quiet. but they really don't seem to add anything to he sound.

i set these up with my q-60t soundbar and my 2015 uhd samsung tv and they worked great. then i upgraded my tv to a 2020 samsung model and they no longer worked. after troubleshooting with samsung support for more than four hours (including 30 minutes where the samsung pro was unresponsive), we were offered no solutions to fix our issue. do not recommend.

despite what the n650 owners manual says, these speakers will not pair with the soundbar. after getting my soundbar back for repairs (it dropped the bass pairing while i tried setting these up), it reconnected with the bass but won't recognize these speakers. even the best buy site doesn't include the n650 as compatible.

setting up the speakers were a pleasure, but sadly they don't meet the sound quality of the sound bar. they just sound very high-pitched and distractingly tinny. they're about as large as free computer speakers, and sadly they sound just like it. they in no way live up to the hw-t650 they're pairing with. i had to turn the volume way down to deal with just how much they sound like they're being filtered through aluminum foil. the industrial design is great. they are easy to setup. they... just don't have the dynamic range.

i have got, after 1 month of reviewing my pocket :) and internet forums hw-q60r + (later) swa-8500s. what i have to say, do not listen bad review and instal it with hdmi 2.0 arc. i have a mu7002 tv, audio to bitstream+dolby digital with audio adaption for a better voice and you will be able to watch netflix hdr 4k with massive audio definition. it is not true that adding rear speaker you are not going to listen because of 7.1 system. it will remain 5.1 but with much better definition. i definitely recommend this production after a deep review and "tweakability"

the rear speakers work nice its the smart things app and the way that you hook them up that the problem i bought in december a samsung q70 65" tv samsung q70 r sound bar samsung swa 8500s speakers it was complacated to get all of this to work togeather app does not reconize the equipment call samsung support thier solution to all is a factory reset watch u tube finally all works great and all equipment is top notch last thursday sound bar rear speakers go out can not get the app to find them will not hook up to wi-fi have get sound thru bluetooth have tried everything except going thru samsung yet as they are no help and have no solutions my advice buy the samsung tv then bose or sanos sound bar at least they care after the sale

tried to use the rear speaker kit with hw-k450 sound bar. i never got it to work after several days of researching connection troubleshooting. i gave up. after about a year, the sound bar started going up in volume to the max uncontrollably. i couldn't get this fixed so i bought the t550 sound bar to replace the broken one. i bought it at best buy. the display had the rear speaker kit connected in the store and sounded great. so i bought thinking i could pair the rear kit i already had at home. no luck, this rear speaker kit (which is the samsung 8500s) will still not connect. this is the 3rd samsung bar that would not connect with the main sound bar. very frustrating, guess i just wasted 129.00 on the rear kit.

The speaker kit was very easy to link with my Samsung Harman Q70R sound bar. The issue was there was no output from the rear speakers resulting in me spending hours researching different output modes to full audio set up, and reading online reviews... after purchasing the product. I am not an active participant of providing online feedbacks. In this case I felt I should post it for the benefit of others: 1. The manuals must be updated by Samsung. At least update the e-manuals for the Sound Bar systems and Rear Speaker kit. I find the manuals are very basic lacking the depth required to assist customers. For example, what does 'virtual' mode means in the Sound Bar settings? What happens when we switch it on or off? Is it linked with rear speakers.... Why can't we select Dolby Digital or DTS 5.1 on Samsung Curve TV? Please think from customers view and update the manuals. 2. The rear speakers kit is very easy to connect. The challenge was to enable the volume using the Sound Bar remote. There are good YouTube videos, I think one from Samsung, please do review. 3. I found the solution for my problem thanks to someone like me who experienced the problem and fixed it on his own after lot of trial and error. He had posted his comments on Amazon page. The four cables should not be inserted fully into the rear speakers just to ensure tight fix. Rather just insert the points lightly so that the end touches the point to receive sound. I hope the e-manuals are updated by Samsung. It is important to look at manuals from JBL to know why customer like me are expecting more from the user manual. To conclude, the speakers are fantastic addition providing impressive 5.1 output at a reasonable price. I am actually impressed with the mini size of the speakers module, speakers design and generous length of the cables given by Samsung. I would recommend this to anyone who have invested in Samsung Sound Bars!

First and foremost most reviewers saying there's no sound or it's very low the rear speakers are adjusted separately volume wise. Find the instructions adjusting their volume makes a world of difference. The speakers work well the wireless adapter could be a little smaller bit such is life. A stand for the satellite speakers from Samsung would be nice though. Let's make it happen Samsung something table top wise would be most welcome.

I bought this system a while ago and I should have returned it. The front sound bar works great but can hardly hear anything out of the rear speakers or the base speaker. Not quite sure where to place everything. If the small speakers are behind you, you can't even tell they are there. If you stand in-line with them or slightly behind them it does sound a little better but not what I was expecting.

I was considering buy a new Samsung soundbar because I could add the wireless speakers. But in researching I discovered that the speakers was not truley wireless because you havve to hook then up to a wireless module with a wire. So unless you couch/rear vieing area is against a wll this will not work. The is not a way to stretch a wire across the room. I find this very disapointing from Samsung as both LG and Visio have truley wireless speakers.

I suspect this has to do with the fact the devices were purchased in different countries (Israel and US) but since it isn't noted anywhere, I'm left guessing. After talking to Samsung support and a Samsung liaison rep at Best Buy it was told to me that when paired with the Soundbar Q60R that is already a 5.1 surround sound speaker it would become 7.1 surround sound. The problem with this is that almost everything you watch is 5.1 and sound does not come out of the rear speakers otherwise with any other audio format from a computer or apps built-in to the smart TV. This fact essential make this wireless rear kit useless with an existing 5.1 soundbar. No way around this concept. The 5.1 Soundbar Q60R's powerful sound is good enough and mimics surround sound nicely in a room with the adaptive sound technology. This wireless kit is not needed and ineffective with that setup. I just wanted to get this information out there because it is confusing and not marketed that way on Samsung website.

I purchased at Best Buy and was extremely excited to setup the rear speakers so I could "experience" surround sound in my living room. Let me just start off by saying the instructions aren't extremely detailed like they should be. The manual doesn't even explain how to raise/lower the volume. Trust me, the sound quality is VERY poor regardless if the soundbar is in "surround sound mode." The bass is non existant, just to give you an idea, the rear speakers bass is identical to an Amazon Echo. I can't even hear noise coming behind me lol unless I put the speaker a foot away from my ear. I have the Q70 Samsung/Harmon Kardon soundbar and was easy to connect. Overall, definitely avoid these unless you have a low end Samsung soundbar & only watch movies then maybe consider buying these.

I keep losing signal from the rear speakers. I have tried resetting the whole system and starting over with the setup. I still get loss of signal from the rear speakers. The blue link light flashes when the signal is lost. No nothing is blocking the box from the sound bar. It's a straight line. Any ideas why the rear speakers are cutting out?

Fantastic Addition to My Soundbar

These are fantastic little speakers. It instantly turned my 3.1 into a room filling 5.1 full surround. I received an HW-R60C soundbar free with my new Samsung TV and was happy to find that I could add the rear channel. I am not a fan of 3.1 surround at all so I opted to add the rear channel for full surround. I found these gems on Amazon for under $90. I followed the included instructions and within minutes I had fantastic sounding 5.1 to compliment my soundbar. No problems whatsoever with either the rear speakers or the soundbar. My only gripe is the tiny mount hole on the back of the speakers. I wish they would have added a standard sized screw hole mount. My speaker stands don't have a small enough bolt to fit so I had to use the 2-way tape and set them atop the stands (see pic). Other than that minor issue, these babies rock!

I bought this rear speakers in November 2018. Right from start, they have defect sounds keeps breaking from the rear speakers. I have spent multiple hours talking to customer service and sent it for repair twice. It still has the same issue. This third time, they expect me to again send it for repair. I am no more wasting my time over this product. I wouldn't recommend this product to anyone.

I am really glad I purchased these in addition to the HW-N650. These speakers add that extra touch to really immerse you in whatever you are watching. I had to reduce the volume on the rear speakers because, at times, it made it difficult to hear spoken words coming from the main soundbar. I put these on stands next to the couch, so they are fairly close to ear level and can be a bit loud, but overall I am happy with these speakers.

Added these wireless speakers to my Sound Bar to provide a surround sound experience. Considering the reduced price of $70 they are a good value and provide a good listening experience. They were easy to set up and operate.

Wouldn't pair with M360 Sound Bar

Bought this with the M360 sound bar and it wouldn't pair. First interaction with support said it was an issue with the sound bar and to open a ticket for service. Response from the service ticket was another round of trouble shooting and was told it was a problem with the rear speakers and to arrange a replacement. Was then told it could only be serviced and not replaced. So I just returned them in frustration.

Sound cuts out constantly

Bought these about 2 months ago and I have constant issues with the sound cutting in and out. The receiver is less than 10 ft away from my soundbar and it seems like the wifi signal cuts in and out. When it cuts out the receiver light blinks. Some days it never cuts out, others it's constant problem. And I just registered my speakers and of course the warranty is expired.... I am not happy with my purchase....
